Teal Trim (Edit) is a dreamy synthtronica/hip hop hybrid that lends itself to both party-time and sleepy-time head nodding, and is the strong opener off Mux Mool's new compilation EP. Mux Mool is the aka of Brooklyn electro acousticker Brian Lindgren, and a recent addition to the Ghostly International label (which you might know by its star performer, ambient electronica grandmaster Tycho).

You first heard Fashawn on his awesome breakout album Boy Meets World. Now hear him rap over the ol' "Memory Lane" beat. Also good, right? "Just bein' honest, fuck who's the flyest/I rock white tees, breeze to the major leagues and skip college." Your goddamn right you do, Fah. (Fash?) Nab the song. Nab the album.

 

Let Go is a great smooth piece of pop that would go well with a pina colada. Or sake. Or some Kentucky bourbon. Fresh off the release of November's jj n° 2, jj have been releasing singles like shells from Scarface's M16, and it's the breezy mashup of tropical, eastern, and American folk influence that makes this one stand out. "Baby we were born for fun/or maybe to sleep in the sun." If that isn't napping music, I don't know what is.
